Julien is originally from Cannes in France where he studied a Masters in Sport Science and a Masters in Sport Management in Marseille. He was also part of the French Youth Sailing Team and competed at an international level in Olympic Windsurfing, participating in six World championships. In 2007, he migrated to Australia. He studied at Griffith University and completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Master of Physiotherapy. He is also accredited in Strength and Conditioning (level 1) from the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association. During his studies, Julien held a dual role as a research assistant and allied health assistant at the Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre, which gave him valuable insight into research and paediatric rehabilitation.

Julien is passionate about sports injuries and utilises an exercise-based approach for injury prevention; and for strengthening, conditioning and rehabilitation post-injury. He has previously worked with a wide range of athletes, from professional windsurfers (e.g. Windsurfing World Cup competitors) to rugby players (e.g. Griffith University College Rugby Union Club). He adopts a tailored and evidence-based treatment approach to help clients achieve their goals, which include recovering from injuries, preventing injuries, and maximising quality of life.

Outside of work, Julien enjoys long distance cycling and running, windsurfing, and participating in triathlons or marathons.
